GET INVOLVED

If you are a faculty member looking to be involved in the Intersections Science Fellows Symposium, here is how you can support our selected Fellows.

HIGHLIGHT

  • Join Faculty Engagement Committee (1-2 faculty/department). Click here to see FEC 2021

  • Act as a point person for your department.

  • Encourage your colleagues to attend, support, and amplify Fellows and this Symposium.

  • Identify other mentors.

  • Serve on or nominate a designee for the Fellow Selection Committee.

MENTOR

  • Serve as Faculty Mentor for Fellow(s) in a similar research field (1 faculty match per 1-2 Fellows); attend ~3 1:1 meetings/year with Fellow; and be available through email.

  • Be a sponsor/advocate for Fellows by promoting their work and/or connecting them with opportunities.

  • Lead a Workshop for professional development for Fellows and organizing postdocs.

NETWORK

  • If you are an Academic Leader (Deans, Vice/Chairs, Diversity Officers), participate in small breakout rooms with Fellows (~4-5 Fellows) at the symposium.

  • Serve as Faculty Contacts: Sign up for 1:1 meetings with Fellows (30 minutes) during symposium, by request.
